Inter killed football

Posted on | May 25, 2010 | 2 Comments

Every football fan saw this Saturdays Champions League final between Inter Milano and Bayern Munchen,
and of course no one could be happier than the fans of Inter.Ecstatic fans of Inter Milano all over the world celebrated a victory that was fully deserved, and of course what can make you happier as a fan of a club when your favourite club wins after 45 years the most wanted title for a club, to be the Queen of Europe?

Inter achieved that title on Saturday night , making it’s fans all over the world ecstatic, but i have to ask
this : At what cost?

Surely they deservedwinning, but they did that by making a compromise, they killed the spectacle, they killed football, by heavily defending and counter attacking. Now i am going to be cursed by an entire people of fans of Inter Milano, and yes i admit, i am not a fan of Inter , never was, and will never be, but come one football fans, honestly did you really enjoyed the football mach displayed on Saturday?

If you were an independent football fan, not a fan of Inter or Bayern, did you really liked what you saw?
A team that defended heavily and scored by counter atacking in two occasions?

I didn’t like what i saw not one bit, it was a boring match, and i always prefer football as a spectacle, not just a game that you must do anything “legal” just to win it.

It is said that all is fair in love and war.

But not in football.Or at least it shouldn’t.

What is the purpose of the football game?
To win a championship, a torunament, a cup.

How you win? you score goals. How do you go through? Sometimes with a draw, it is enough.

That´s the game, the game is not only attacking is defending, letting the other team not to play, or to play bad. If Barcelona cannot score, it is probably responsible for the 50% of it; the remaining 50% (sometimes more) is the merit of the other team.

It is always the same story with italian football: Spain plays a spectacular football. How many world cup they won so far? ZERO.

Italy is always “lucky”, “diving” “cheating” “plays defensive catenaccio”(even when they win against Germany, in Germany, 2-0 scoring and attacking the whole match). Italy won 4 times the WorldCup the only team in Europe and Only brazil won more.

But that´s how things are and work. You have to win; if you can also play an intertaining football even better. But it is better to be pragmatic and win than paly good football and lose.

Even England hired an italian like Capello. Does he play a spectacular football?? No.
    Does he win? YES.

It makes me think about the old motto: “good guys arrive last. Cause girls like bad guys.
So be bad and get the girls (or the titles).
