Will Owen Hargreaves become an important player for Man City?

Owen Hargreaves came at Manchester United in 2007 after long negotiations. Sir Alex Ferguson insisted for the England international and finally agreed a £17 millions fee with Bayern Munich.

Hargreaves started his senior career at Bayern Munich in 2000 and made 145 appearances and scored 5 goals for the Bundesliga giants.

The 30 years old midfielder should have become an important player for Manchester United but the injuries have made it not happen. Hargreaves suffered a few surgeries and managed to play only a few minutes in the last 3 seasons for United.

This summer the former Bayern player became a free agent after his contract with Manchester ended. He failed to find a club until the last hours of the transfer period as most of the clubs feared that the 30 years old football career is over.

Mancini decided to give him another chance at the highest level and signed him and at first impression he made a good decision.

Hargreaves made his debut for Manchester City with a goal and was awarded with “Man Of The Match” in the League Cup win 2-0 against Birmingham.
