Chelsea sign Gary Cahill

0

Chelsea have announced that they finally signed Gary Cahill after more than two weeks of negotiations.

There were some doubts over the move at a time as the England international demands were considered too high. Andre Villas Boas also declared that the player should lower his demands if he wants to play for Chelsea.

From unnoficial sources Cahill asked for £100000 a week wage and £4 millions signing on fee. On the other side Chelsea offered only a small increase to the £45000 a week he earned at Bolton but in the end have reach an agreement. The transfer sum is around £7 millions.

The England international started his career at Aston Villa where he made only 28 appearances in four years. During that time he was loaned twice at Burnley and Sheffield United.

In 2008 Cahill joined Bolton for a fee of around £5 millions. The 24 years old centreback made seven appearances for England and scored 1 goal.

Will Caroll return to Newcastle?

Andy Caroll came at Liverpool last year in a deal that makes him the most expensive British player.

The 23 years old forward was supposed to make the difference at Liverpool but unfortunately wasn’t the case. Caroll came as a replacement for Torres who left for Chelsea.

Caroll was injured when he came from Newcastle and everybody expected his debut at Anfield. He failed to impose into the starting line even if Dalglish had fate in him and put him in different formations. Caroll made only 31 appearances and scored only 6 goals for Liverpool.

Now Newcastle want him back but at a smaller price. Also Liverpool might accept a bid of around £25 millions as they would lose around £10 millions.

It remains to see if Newcastle will meet Liverpool asking price and if the player will accept to return to his former club.

Jose Antonio Reyes returns to his first club after eight years. The 28 years old winger left Sevilla in 2004 for Arsenal Londra.

Reyes started his youth career at Sevilla in 1994. He played for the youth team until 1999 when he was moved to the second team.

After only one year he made the debut at the first team and attracted the interest of some Premier League clubs.

In 2004 Wenger took him at Arsenal and everyone thought  that he will have a bright future. Reyes started the season in style as he scored in the first six games for Arsenal but failed to maintain the good form.

Unfortunately for him he never adapted to London life and after only two years he was loaned at Real Madrid where he spent one season.

In 2007 Atletico Madrid bought him from Arsenal where he played until now with one year exception when he was loaned at Benfica.

He never hide his wish to return to his favorite team and now finally this happened. Reyes will sign a contract of three and a half years with Sevilla. The transfer sum is not known yet.
