The Russian club have signed Roberto Carlos, Yuri Zhirkov, Dzsudzsak and Samuel Eto’o and their officials declared that they are willing to be a force in Europe in the next five years.

Maicon was the subject of transfers for the last two summer with Real Madrid in pole position for the Brazilian defender but the asking price was considered too big even for a club like Real.

The 30 years old defender is still considered one of the best right defenders in the world. Inter have put a  €25 millions price tag on their defender but is believed that a sum of around €15 millions would be enough now to lure him away from San Siro. The transfer could be done in this winter transfer period.

Maicon has one of the biggest salaries at Inter and his performances decreased lately also his commitment for the club.

Maicon started his senior career at Cruzeiro. He moved to Monaco in 2004 and after only two years he was  transferred to Inter. For the national team he played in 66 games and scored 6 goals.

After a disastrous start of the season with Gasperini in charge Massimo Moratti decided to end the collaboration with the 53 year old coach.

The 3-1 defeat against new promoted Novara was the final game for Gasperini at Giuseppe Meazza.

Ranieri was on Inter shortlist along with Luis Figo, Quique Sanchez Flores or Carlo Ancelotti but the former Roma and Chelsea manager won the race.

The Italian coach has signed a contract until 2013  with the former Champions League winners. Ranieri coached Serie A teams like Cagliari, Napoli, Fiorentina, Parma, Juventus and  Roma before and was close to win the scudetto with Roma and Juventus 2 times.

He had some adventures outside  Italy too. He was the head coach of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Valencia two times.

Now everybody expects to see how Ranieri will revitalize Inter players.  Some specialists considered that there is an end of a cycle at Inter and only the lack of motivation is the cause for the bad performances.

Ranieri declared that he will work on the psychological part and that he will have private discussions with the players.
