Arsenal have sign Gervinho

Latest reports from Premier League suggest that Arsenal have completed the signing of Gervinho from France champions Lille.

Gervinho will join the squad only after his new teammates will finish the pre-season tour. The 24 years old will start the fitness training in London as he has not trained for a few weeks.

The transfer fee is around €12 millions. The Ivory Coast player helped his former side to win the title in Ligue One with 15 goals and 10 assists.

Gervinho is the first important signing of the year for Arsene Wenger. The French manager is trying to convince some of his important players to remain with the club.

Arsenal have not won any trophy in the last six seasons and some of the key players expressed their desire to leave the club in order to find the glory elsewhere. Narsi and Fabregas are the most notable.

Even if the last two will not leave the club there will be some important changes as Wenger will try to strengthen the squad.

Inter sign Ricky Alvarez from Velez

Latest reports from Serie A suggest that Inter have completed the signing of Argentinean midfielder Ricky Alvarez from Velez.

The 23 years old play-maker is supposed to sign a five years contract. Alvarez will cost Inter around €12 millions that will be paid in more tranches.

This move increase once again  the speculations about Sneijder future at Inter as he is playing in the same position. The Dutchman is wanted by Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Alvarez started his professional career in 2008 at Velez where he scored 5 goals in 42 appearances. The midfielder has won the Clausura title last season with his club when he had some impressive performances.

Cesena have announced that they signed Adrian Mutu from Fiorentina. Mutu joined Fiorentina in 2006 from Juventus.

‘Il Fenomeno’ had 4 great seasons at Viola but last season was not so good. Fiorentina decided to change their strategy and focus on younger players as Mutu found himself out of the future plans.

The 32 years old forward had plenty of options but he decided to remain in Serie A. Cesena president, Igor Campedelli, declared that they made an effort to sign Mutu and that they are more than happy as the transfer is done.

Mutu will sign a two years contract with the option for another one if things will go well. The Romanian superstar is one of the few players who played for six different clubs in Serie A along with Appiah.

Mutu is also one of the top scorers in activity from Serie A. For the national team he played 70 games and scored 32 goals.

Porto confirm that Andre Villas-Boas will leave the club

Porto have confirmed that they have received a fax from Andre Villas-Boas about his intention to terminate his contract with the club.

Villas-Boas will probably sign a contract with Chelsea in the coming days. The Premier League club will have to pay €15 millions as compensation for his current contract.

The Portuguese coach was wanted also by Inter Milan after Leonardo left the club for PSG but he rejected their offer.

Villas-Boas made the treble last year with Porto after winning the Portuguese championship and cup and also the Europa League. The 33 years old coach is the youngest coach who managed to win the treble.

Falcao will probably join him if he will sign for Chelsea.

The Portuguese coach was in Mourinho’s staff at Porto, Chelsea and Inter before taking control at Porto last year and was already named “the new Mourinho”.
