Inter have sacked Benitez

0

Even if there are only few months since his arrival in Milan, the latest reports from Italy suggest that Inter have sacked Rafa Benitez.

Benitez failed to continue Mourinho’s work as Inter are seventh in the Italian Serie A with 13 points behind their rivals from Milan but with 2 games less. Inter failed to win the European Super Cup against Atletico Madrid and finished second in Champions League group behind Tottenham. The only trophy for Benitez at Inter is the Club World Cup.

There is no official statement regarding the Spanish coach situation. More than that Inter president Massimo Moratti declared that he is unaware of the situation :”All this is unexpected and I have not had a chance to hear anyone” .

The president also declared that he had no meetings or discussion with other coaches to take the Inter job. However there are three candidates: Leonardo, Zenga and Spalletti.

The Brazilian has the biggest chances as both Spalletti and Zenga have contracts in Russia and Saudi Arabia respectively. Spalletti is the fresh winner of Russian championship with Zenit and the Russian club declared that they will not allow their coach to leave  the club now.

Besiktas to sign Fernandes

0

Besiktas are looking to strengthen the squad in the winter transfer period with the 24 years old Portuguese midfielder  from Valencia. There are also speculations that Simao from Sevilla and Almeida from Werder are also close to Besiktas.

Simao has entered in the last 6 months of contract and as the club have not offered him an extension he is tempted to accept Besiktas offer.

With this three signings Besiktas would strengthen the squad but also this could be a good market strategy. Last year Besiktas have signed Quaresma from Inter and Guti from Real Madrid.

Fernandes started his career at Benfica. He played for Everton and Portsmouth before joining Valencia in 2007. He made 5 appearences for Portugal in which he managed to score once.
