Why Guus Hiddink should use Anelka – Drogba pair at Chelsea

2

Drogba and Anelka have rarely played together this season, ex-manager Scolari preferred to play only with one striker  upfront.

More than that Drogba failed to make Chelsea‘s starting line-up too many times this season Scolari preferring Anelka as lone striker. Drogba was never at his best under Scolari, mainly due to injuries, managing to score only once, not the way we all expected.

The appointment of Hiddink was well received by Drogba and his colleagues. The Ivorian international could get the chance to shine again under his new manager. Chelsea is having a bad time right now and the manager change would probably not be enough to make things work again.

The system 4-3-2-1 seems to not fit anymore Chelsea as Malouda or Kalou are simply not good enough for Chelsea‘s standards. The system worked perfectly under Mourinho but since then a lot of things have changed. Duff and Robben left the club, Essien is injured, Joe Cole is out of form as well as Deco, Quaresma or Mikel their potential replacement.

A good solution for Hiddink would be to change the system to a 4-4-2 classic formation with only 2 central midfielder and with Drogba and Anelka upfront. Also Anelka, the Premier League top scorer would be delighted to play alongside Drogba as he declared some weeks ago:

It is not secret that I play better alongside another striker, particularly with Didier Drogba in a 4-4-2. Hopefully I’ll have some more chances do so.

If the system will not work then Chelsea should search for some good wingers in the summer, Robinho, Young, Silva or Di Maria could be ideal targets in this case.

Should Kaka be the next Milan captain?

3

Milan supporters have insisted that Kaka should be the next captain after Maldini retires.

Kaka has chosen to stay at Milan despite the fabulous offer received from Manchester City. This wish was also accepted by Maldini with one condition: Kaka should not leave Milan for Real Madrid.
Even if he refused the money from Manchester City because he can’t leave his friends and the religion played an important role, Kaka could be tempted by Real Madrid.
At Real he would benefit from the best conditions and he should not have to worry about the performances at Real Madrid as it was the case with City.
With Kaka captain Milan would follow Arsenal model where Fabregas was rewarded with the captain armband thanks to the great evolutions on the ground.

Also the Brazilian express his desire to become someday Milan’s captain in 2007 just after winning the Golden Ball Award “I believe that I’m already a leader inside the team, but I would like to become the captain, the flag of this team“.

Kaka was considered until recently the young symbol of Milan and many could consider that he does not have the same leadership like Gattuso or Ambrosini.

Also Ancelotti declared that he thinks that is more important to feel like a leader than wearing the armband and that Kaka could be the captain if the whole team want him to be.

Derby between Inter and Milan

1

The clash between Serie’s A two giants AC Milan and Internationale will have it’s next episode on Sunday. It’s the same event that catches the attention of not just Milano, the city its self, and Italy, but also of the entire world.Today’s top match will be in the world of football fans the highlight of the day.

Inter while leading the Serie A table with 53 points, with  Juventus following behind and Milan on third position, will be looking to strengthen their position in the table, but they know that they will be playing against an adversary that fiercely will fight for every ball and in matches likes these the table position has no effect, and there are no clear favourites.

A defeat for Milan will mean the end of hopes of a new title, as the distance between them and Inter  will be to big to recuperate.Kaka, Milan’s player, isn’t going to play due to an injury, and this seems rather a big disadvantage since Mourihnio has his full team in good shape and ready for the battle on the pitch.

Also Maldini, the Milan’s veteran is likely to be playing his last macth of his carrer against Inter, as he is about the retire this summer at the veritable age of 40.This would be his 55th in 25 seasons What could be more thriling that winning against a life time enemy in your last derby?

For everything Maldini has proved as a football player, the fotbalistic value, the attitude, the loyalty, although i am not a fan of Milan, i wish him to snatch a last win in his last derby of his career against Inter, good luck to you Maldini.
