Will Beckham remain at Milan?

2

David Beckham, who joined AC Milan from LA Galaxy in order to keep his position in England’s team, scored his first goal for “the rossoneri”.

Beckham made his third consecutive appearance in Milan‘s shirt and increased the speculations about returning at LA Galaxy.

Beckham scored the last goal in Milan‘s victory 4-1 at Bologna last weekend. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player was once again one of the best players on the field.

Beckham’s luck, if we can call it so, is Gattuso injury which eased Ancelotti’s decision regarding the right flank.

With this performances Beckham responded to all the critics in the best manner and that’s on the field.

Beckham proved Capello, but most important to himself, that despite being 33 he still has much to show and he is not done yet.

Beckham is one of the most loved English players in the entire history.  The former England captain joined the select group of players that played and scored for top clubs from Premier League, Primera Division and Serie A.

If Beckham decides to stay and the clubs can reach an agreement probably this would be the last big challenge for him.

Will Arshavin move this time?

After winning Uefa Cup with Zenit and reaching the European semifinals with Russia last season, Arshavin was one one the most hunted players.

Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester City, Inter and other big clubs from Europe were interested in signing the Russian star but the asking price was considered too much for a player that never played abroad.

Arsenal are still interested and prepared to make a move for the player if Zenit will accept to lower their demands. Zenit are asking £20 milion but would accept even 17-18 million.

If clubs like Manchester City, Real Madrid, Manchester are spending big sums of money on players they want, Wenger maintain the same transfer policy at Arsenal, unwilling to spent substantial sums.

Arsenal is willing to give up at their promising forward Bendtner in order to add 5-6 million more to those 12 offered before.

Arshavin, which is 27 years old now, is desperate to move to a bigger team and know that this is the right time for it.

However if Arsenal and Zenit will not reach to an agreement Inter and Manchester City could also be a destination for him.

Anyway whatever the destination will be, there are fears that Arshavin would not adapt to the style and conditions in the new league. Considering that he is already 27 and he played the whole life only in his country £20 million might be too high risk for any team.

Top leagues in Europe

“To be the best” is the main objective for everybody. For football teams to be the best means to win trophies, to constantly participate into the best competitions.

The best competition in Europe is Champions League and undoubtedly the best teams in here are from Premier League, Primera Division and Serie A. This three championships are the best ranked in Uefa Championhip standings for the last couple of years and probably the situation will be the same also in the future. Of course the standings were changing every year and some of them have switched the positions.

Sometimes success can be bought but to stay on top is needed more than that.

Football has become an industry and this is seen especially in Premier League, where the investments increased a lot. But despite all of this efforts the Champions League places are occupied all the time by Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

This is the best prove that for building a super-team besides money you need time, confidence and winning mentality. In my view Premier League is the best Championship in the World but also a little predictable because of the difference between the top four teams and the rest.

The same thing can be said about Primera Division, where in my view only Barcelona and Real Madrid are the real candidates for the title. Also in Champions League only Barcelona had notable performances in the last couple of years. From Primera we should mention also Valencia and Sevilla which are also good teams.

Currently Barcelona is 12 points ahead Real Madrid and I think we can said that they are the new champions.

The last one but not necessary in this order is Serie A. This seems to be the most balanced championship maybe because of “Calciopoli scandal”.

Even now there are 13 points between first place and eighth occupied by As Roma, a title contender at the beginning at the season. From this point of view Serie A is definitely over Primera and Premier Division.
