Chelsea – Liverpool who will remain unbeaten?

Liverpool are set to travel to Stamford Bridge for the game of the season against Chelsea.

Both teams are unbeaten in eight games and a victory for any of the teams would be a major psychological blow for their rivals.
The teams are coming after heavy matches in Champions League and the managers have to keep the players on focus. Another major concern is the injury problem. Gerrard, Keane and Alonso from Liverpool are having problems but probably they will be fit for the game. Martin Skrtel and Fernando Torres are both injured but the medical staff are making great efforts to recover Torres until Sunday. The Spanish international had been offered a VIP seat by his former club for the Champions League fixture against Liverpool but he preferred to continue his recovery.
Chelsea will miss Essien and Drogba both injured. This is probably the most expected game of the week by football fans.
Both teams are hoping to win the title at the end of the season and end Manchester domination.

Champions League – Matchday 3 overview

It was a superb night for all football fans with lots of goals and great comebacks.
Manchester and Villareal have smashed their opponents in convincing victories. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men beat Scottish champion Celtic 3-0 at Old Trafford while Villareal produced the biggest score of the night 6-3 against AaB. After this matches Manchester and Villareal are occupying the first two places with 7 point each and probably the direct game will establish the winner of the group.
Lot of goals were scored also in Group F. Bayern won 3-0 against Fiorentina, but the match was more balanced than the score shows. In the other group game Lyon showed superb comeback as they manage to recover twice after being lead with 2-0 and 3-2 by Steaua. Lyon finally won the game with 5-3.
Bayern is the favorite for winning the group while Lyon and Fiorentina will beat for second place.
In Group G Arsenal beat 5-2 at Fenerbahce while Dynamo Kyiv won 1-0 at Porto. The last one was probably the only surprise of the night. Arsenal is by far the best team in the group. Rest of the teams will have to fight for the second place.
Group H was probably the most balanced. Juventus beat Real Madrid with 2-1 and made an important step in winning the group. The batle for third place betwen Bate and Zenit remains open after 1-1 draw at Zenit.
From eight matches only two of them ended with less than 3 goals. Probably it was also a great night for betting considering the high stakes for big scores.

Roma to lose Mexes in January?

Roma lost two of their star players Chivu and Mancini in the last two seasons and there are speculations that Mexes will join Milan in January.
The Rossoneri are looking for a replacement of Maldini who will retire at the end of the season. The defense is undoubtedly a major concern for Milan‘s board due to repeated injuries of Nesta and Kaladze. Senderos, who is loaned from Arsenal, is also injured and has not make the official debut yet.
The whole transaction will rise around 20m and will include Daniele Bonera or Marek Jankulovski.
The French international is having a bad period and was heavily criticized for his performances for club and country. Despite all this Mexes is a key football player at Roma and a move to Milan would be another blow for Giallorossi.
Roma fought for the title till the very last match past season but now it looks like they are already out of title chances and in danger of losing even a Champions League place. If the situation do not change quickly Roma may become a source of players for the three powers in Serie A.
