Another bad injury, this time at basketball

0

Last night, during the  basketball game between Houston Rockets and Charlotte Bobcats from Houston a player was taken off the field on a stretcher after suffering a concussion!
After a trivial counterattack of the Rockets ended whit Chandler Parsons’s shot, a Bobcats player was lying on the floor.

What happened? The injured player, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, collided with his teammate Jeffrey Taylor, trying to stop Houston’s riposte. When Taylor hit Kidd-Gilchrist in the head with his knee the player crashed on the floor unconscious  and the medical stuff immobilized his neck and took him out. It seems like he spent the night at the hospital but the tomography results were not made public.

Galatasaray sign Wesley Sneijder

0

After almost two weeks of negotiations, Wesley Sneijder was transferred from Inter Milan to the Turkish club Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants payed €7.5 millions for the Dutch midfielder, who won the treble with Inter in 2010. Sneijder will receive €5.5 millions a year for the next three and a half years, with only €500.000 less than he was payed by the Italian club.

Sneijder’s future at Inter was in doubt after the player refused to accept the wage cut. Unfortunately for him there were not too many clubs interested in signing him and that’s because of two factors.  The first one and the most important was his salary demands. There are not too many clubs who could afford to pay his salary.

The second one is that his form has continuously decreased since 2010. That’s why in 2011 Manchester United offered €40 millions for him and now only Galatasaray were indeed interested in signing him. There are more football betting lines (click here) at Topbet.eu.

Even so Sneijder considered that this is not a back step for him. In a press conference held in Istambul, the new Galatasaray player explained the reason for choosing this team and revealed the two key figures in his football career. Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal influenced him in reaching this decision: “They both said the same thing: go!”

Arsenal looking to strengthen the team

0

According to some rumors spread on the internet, today, Arsenal will have a budget of £30 million for transfers.

But it is not known yet whether the amount will be invested in one or more players, Wenger announced a while ago that the team needs two or three players.
Considering the fact that Podolski and  Giroud are not the strikers that “The Gunners” aspire, the players which could arrive at Emirates for this amount of money are Edinson Cavani (Napoli), Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid), Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid) and Marouane Fellaini (Everton).
If we think that Falcao was bought from Porto for 40 million euros, is hard to believe that Atletico Madrid staff will let him go for a lower amount.
Asked during a press conference if Napoli striker could take the “gunners” shirt  this season, Wenger resumed only to a smile, so Cavani do not seems to be “the one” neither.

In this situation, just two names fall in those 30 millions: Gonzalo Higuain and Marouane Fellaini.
It’s already known that Fellaini wants to leave Everton, reports are emerging that  the midfielder has a £22 million buyout clause in his contract. As well, Higuain is tempted to leave Real Madrid, Mourinho is preferring  Benzema for the advanced forward position.

Roma vs Inter preview

0

Roma vs Inter is one of the most expected Serie A derbies and even from Europe. The next derby between these teams will be played on Sunday.

This season is not too good for any of the team. Inter are forth in the standings seven points behind leader Juventus and two points behind third place, the last Champions League spot. Roma are currently sitting on sixth position with six points behind Inter. So this will be a six points game.

Theoretically both teams have chances for playing in Champion League next season but any bad steps from now on will drastically reduce the chances.

As Roma are the favorites against Inter and this is probably because of to the latest results between the teams. AS Roma have managed to won two of the last five games, while Inter have won only one. The other two games ended with a draw.

You can check the odds on https://sports.bwin.com/en/sports/4/betting/football. A thing to take into consideration is that Inter have lost only one game in the last five matches while Roma have lost three of them. Both teams play better at home.

Roma have the best attack in Serie A but also one of the weakest defences with only Pescara and Cagliari behind them. The team top goalscorers are Lamela and Osvaldo both with 10 goals.

As for Inter they have the fourth defence and seventh attack. The team goalscorer is Diego Milito with only 8 goals.

Both teams will be missing some important players because of injuries. Osvaldo, Stekelenburg and Romagnoli are injured for Roma while Inter will not count on Stankovic, Castellazzi, Nagatomo, Alvarez Samuel and Cassano.

Inter and Roma will play also into the Coppa Italia semifinals. Roma past Fiorentina in the quarterfinals while Inter past Bologna.
