0

Betting for Wimbledon will have already commenced for many and with a tough economy, many could do with choosing some winners this year.

Wimbledon is often recognised as the most exciting and famous tennis tournament in the world. The tournament will begin on Monday 25 June 2012 and will close on Sunday 8th July following the final of the men’s singles.

Picking winners can be very difficult because, let’s face it, anybody playing at Wimbledon boasts tremendous skill and talent and while there are some players that generally stand out from the crowd, competition will always be tough. At the end of the day, sport is unreliable and the outcome is never guaranteed.

Despite there being no guarantee, bookmakers have reported a huge amount of interest in the tournament this year and one player gaining a lot of attention is Rafael Nadal. Also, following Andy Murray’s great attempt last year where he reached the semi-finals, he too has been receiving great support.

An article about the best Wimbledon Betting Odds on the Independent can help you decide who to back this year, but here are some of our suggestions:

Men’s seeds

For those who are unaware, Wimbledon has a seeding process that is in place to prevent the highest ranked players playing each other until rounds later on in the tournament. If this goes to plan, seeds one and two will play against each other in the final. Just like every other year, there are 32 seeds for the 2012 Men’s Singles.

The 2012 Wimbledon Draw comes in with Rafael Nadal (Spain) as number one, Novak Djokovic (Serbia) second, Roger Federer (Switzerland) as the third best player and Andy Murray (England) as the fourth.

Women’s seeds

Just like the men’s seeding process, Wimbledon have categorised the top players so that the best two seeds end up playing in the final – provided they don’t get eliminated in earlier rounds.

This year, at number one is Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark), in second is Vera Zvonareva (Russia), Na Li (China) is third and in fourth place is Victoria Azarenka (Belarus).

Wimbledon draw

When betting it is useful to use a breakdown of the 2012 Wimbledon Draw in order to ascertain the most effective route to secure victory.

Wimbledon betting will be tough this year for the men as Novak Djokovic will be joining Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal at the head of the men’s game and Andy Murray is not too far behind either for those who want to back someone British.

Despite this, Tomas Berdych cannot be ruled out as he reached the final last year. Robin Soderling and Juan Martin Del Potro also remain strong contenders.

The women’s draw this year could very well be the best Wimbledon has seen as there are a number of players in for a chance of capturing the prize. Venus Williams is definitely worth a bet through Blue Square Betting as she will be hoping to win her sixth victory, whilst her sister and defending champion, Serena will also be aiming for the title.

Giovinco is a product of the Juventus youth academy. In 2007 he made the step to the first team but he failed to establish as an important player as Del Piero, the one who was playing in the same position as Giovinco, was at his best at that moment.

The 25 years old attacker was considered one of the most promising young midfielders and Juventus didn’t want to lose him. But for progressing Giovinco needed to play and that’s why Juventus loan him to Empoli and Parma.

After a good season at Parma a few clubs were interested in signing him, Arsenal among them, but  Juventus have chose the best option. They sold half of the player rights at Parma. And it was another successfully season with Parma in which Giovinco scored 15 goals in 36 appearences.

This performances and the departure of Del Piero made Juventus buy the other 50 percent of the player rights. The Turin giants have paid €11 millions for the 50 percent and the player have signed a three years deal.

Sion signed Gattuso for free

Sion have announced that they signed the experienced Gattuso. The Milan legend looked for a club after his contract with the Italian club was not extended.

Milan are in serious financial problems and they decided to let some players with high wages leave. It was the case with Gattuso, Inzaghi and Nesta.

The Milan board declared that they won’t allow the important players leave but if a big offer will come then probably it will be accepted.

Gattuso had a few options but decided to sign with the Swiss club. The Italian midfielder declared that the project presented by Sion president impressed. He refused a better financial offer from Galatasaray.

Gattuso also declared that he was advised to not  accept this offer. The contract will keep him on the field for another two years.

PSG are interested in signing Thiago Silva

Thiago Silva is one of the best defenders and one of the best players in the World at this time. That’s why teams like PSG, Barcelona or Real Madrid are ready to offer huge sums of money to transfer the highly rated Brazilian to their club.

Latest reports from France suggest that PSG are ready to make an offer of around €50 millions for the 27 years old defender.

Milan are not doing so well with the finances but the board declared previously this month that they will not sale their stars. Anyway every player has a price and if a offer with that sum will be made is hard to believe that Milan will refuse the deal.

Spain started the Euro 2012 tournament with a draw 1-1 against Italy. It was a game between the last two European Champions.

The first half ended with a white score. After the break Italy was the team who opened the score trough Di Natale. The Udinese attacker was introduced just minutes earlier to replace Mario Balotelli. But the advantage did not take long as Fabregas leveled the score again.

Both managers proved that they were very inspired as they both made some good moves. Vicente del Bosque surprised everyone by advancing Fabregas into the forward role. On the other side Prandelli made the right choice when he replaced Balotelli with Di Natale.

With this result both teams remain with big chances of qualifying from the group stage. Spain are the main favorites to win the title again along with Germany.
