Will Spain defend the European title?

Spain started the Euro 2012 tournament with a draw 1-1 against Italy. It was a game between the last two European Champions.

The first half ended with a white score. After the break Italy was the team who opened the score trough Di Natale. The Udinese attacker was introduced just minutes earlier to replace Mario Balotelli. But the advantage did not take long as Fabregas leveled the score again.

Both managers proved that they were very inspired as they both made some good moves. Vicente del Bosque surprised everyone by advancing Fabregas into the forward role. On the other side Prandelli made the right choice when he replaced Balotelli with Di Natale.

With this result both teams remain with big chances of qualifying from the group stage. Spain are the main favorites to win the title again along with Germany.

Chelsea to sign Hazard

Eden Hazard has finally decided on his future and announced that he will sign with the Champions League winners after all. The Belgian wonderkid has been linked with a move to Manchester City but has changed his mind after Chelsea won the Champions League.

Manchester United were also interested in signing the player but the agent  financial demands were not accepted by the club.

It is believed that another important factor that made him change his mind is that Chelsea guaranteed him a starting place in the team while City didn’t.

Hazard has been awarded with the Ligue One player of the season in the last two seasons and won the championship last year with Lille.

Will Skrtel leave Liverpool?

Playing in Champions League is what every football player wishes and this has some negative consequences on Liverpool players.

Liverpool are missing the Champions league third time in a row and the players are thinking of leaving for other clubs. It was the case with Fernando Torres who left Liverpool for Chelsea. Also the case for Mascherano, Xabi Alonso.

Another player who is considering quitting Anfield is Skrtel. The Slovakian defender attracted the interest of Man City, Juventus and AC Milan.

But Liverpool do not wish to let the defender leave for a sum lower than €25 millions. Anyway the player insisted that he is happy at Liverpool and that he intends to respect his contract.

It is believed that Skrtel will wait until the new Liverpool manager will be installed.

Will Drogba leave Chelsea at the end of the season?

Drogba’s future is still in doubt. The Ivorian international announced earlier this month that he will leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

Drogba declared that he announced also the staff and his colleagues about the the decision. He also added that he wanted a new challenge since 3 years ago and now it’s the perfect time to do it. Also the team is in reconstruction, and as his place in the first eleven is not guaranteed, and he would not accept to sit on the bench.

Also leaving Chelsea on a high would make him regretted. It’s always better to leave when everybody adores you.

The next destination for Drogba is not known yet but there are big chances for him to join Shanghai Shenhua where would partner his former colleague Anelka.

Ruud van Nistelrooy retires from football

Ruud van Nistelrooy announced that he is going to retire from football. The 35 years old forward was a real goalscoring machine and won the top scorer award in three different leagues.

His best moments were at Manchester United where he scored 150 goals in 219 games in five seasons. He could probably end his career at Manchester United but a dispute with Sir Alex Ferguson made him leave the club for Real Madrid.

Nistelrooy made his debut in style also at Real Madrid where he won the title and was the Primera Division top scorer in the first year.

The Dutch international is considered one of the best football players in the history and  the fans will always remember him as one of the greats.
