Tottenham to sign Vertonghen

Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen declared recently that he wants to move to Premier League at the end of the season. The Belgian defender has one more year contract with the Dutch club and Ajax would have to sell it this year in order to not lose him on a free.

Arsenal and Tottenham were the most interested clubs to sign the player. It looks like Tottenham will be his next destination as he announced his club that he prefers them to Arsenal.

Even if  Tottenham are not sure of Champions League footbal for the next season probably Vertonghen pick them because he considered that he would have more chances of playing as a center-back.

The Belgian international is a very versatile player as he can play also as a left back or as a defensive midfielder. The transfer sum will be around €10 millions.

Arsenal will be very disappointed if this transfer will be done. Wenger is an admirer of the Belgian defender and put him on the top of the transfer list for the next season.

Milan signed Bakaye Traore

AC Milan have made their first signing for the new season. Bakaye Traore will join Milan at the end of the season.

Traore‘s contract with Nancy is going to expire next month so this Milan will not pay any transfer fee.

It is believed that Traore and Milan have reach an agreement a few months ago but the player did not wanted to announce it until now to not worsen the situation at the French club. Nancy were in danger of relegation from Ligue 1 but they manage to secure their place in the first league for another year.

Some of the Milan fans were not too excited with this news because they consider him an average player and were expecting some world-class players.

The 27 years old midfielder was also on Newcastle and Marseille list but opted for Milan after all.

Real Madrid won the title after four years

Real Madrid have won the Primera Division title after beating Atlhletic Bilbao. Real are now 7 points ahead Barcelona with only 2 games left.

This was the first title after a four years dominance of Barcelona.With this trophy Mourinho has won domestic titles in four different countries like Portugal, England, Italy and Spain.

Mourinho declared that this title was the most hard to win. Also he stated that he is not tired yet and he has the same ambition for trophies.

The Portuguese coach will probably remain at Real Madrid for another year. Now that he accomplished one of the objectives he can focus on transfer targets for next  year.

 

Guardiola will leave Barcelona at the end of the season

Josep Guardiola announced that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the season. Guardiola’s contract with the Spanish giants is going to expire this summer and this means that he will not extend the deal.

The Spanish manager said that the main reasons for this decision are stress and fatigue. Guardiola who was the Barcelona reserve coach took charge at the first team in 2008. Since then the manager managed to win 13 titles.

He is considered as one of the most talented managers in the World, a man who always tries to be the best. But after so many trophies Guardiola felt that his lost some of his motivation and was afraid not to transmit this to his players.

Barcelona are out of Champions League after losing in the semi-finals against Chelsea. Also in Primera Division they are behind rivals from Real Madrid with only mathematical chances of winning the title. Even if they wont win any title we can not say that it is a disastrous season.

For sure Guardiola will be missed but for the good of football we all want to see him coaching as soon as possible.

Van Persie wins PFA Player of the Year

Even if the season is not ended in England, Van Persie has been awarded with the PFA Player of the Year.

Van Persie is having the best season of his career with Arsenal. The Netherlands striker is also  the top scorer of the Premier League with only 3 more games to play. The 28 years old striker has scored 27 goals in Premier League this season.

Van Persie also entered into Arsenal record book as the player scored more than 100 goals for the club. He also beat Henry record of goals scored in a season for the club.

Even if Arsenal secured a Champions League place, Van Persie’s future is still in doubt. There are rumors that the player will arrive at Barcelona this summer. Van Persie is disappointed with Arsenal lack of trophies and does not want to sign a contract extension. His contract is going to expire next year and Arsenal may be forced to sell the player now in order to not lose him on a free.
