Will Inter finish top three this season?

0

Inter have five consecutive Serie A titles in the last six seasons and everybody expects them to finish top of the table every season but it looks like this season it won’t be that way.

After 12 games Inter are on a disastrous 15th position. This is one of the worst starts of the season.

The Serie A giants have the same points like Bologna, the first team on top of the relegation line. Everything is negative for Inter this season. Inter have scored 14 goals but they receive 18 instead.

The former Champions League winners have only four wins this season with Siena, Bologna, Cagliari, Chievo and only one of them at more than one goal difference.

Moratti changed the team objective from winning the title to top three at the end of the season. That’s because Italy have lost one Champions League place in Germany’s favor.

Finishing on the 3rd position would ensure them a place in the Champions League Qualification phase.

The 30 years old player has an incredible percentage of almost one goal at every two games for each team he played during his career. Ibrahimovic has another record with the team clubs. He managed to win seven consecutive domestic titles  with five clubs from different countries.

Many football specialists consider him as a selfish player or a “hard to manage player” but the Swedish international is truly a World Class player.

0

Andre Villas-Boas came at Chelsea last summer from Porto after winning the treble with the Portuguese giants. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic wanted him so badly at Chelsea that he paid around €15 millions to Porto as compensation.

The Portuguese manager, labeled “The new Mourinho”, is having a tough period at Chelsea. After Liverpool loos at Stamford Bridge Villas-Boas players have minimized their title chances as they are 12 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Then in the Champions League game they lost in the final minutes of the game at Leverkusen. Chelsea opened the score and control the majority of the game but they lost in the end.

Now Chelsea must not lose in the final game in order to qualify for the next round. If they will fail then probably AVB will be sacked.

The Portuguese manager declared recently that he is not afraid of being sacked and that it’s only the bad luck. Villas-Boas is one of the youngest managers that have won major trophies.

Chivu‘s contract at Inter is going to expire at the end of the season and there are no signs for a renewal from the Serie A club. When the player will enter in the last six months of the contract he will be able to negotiate with any other club. And there are already a few clubs that would be interested in signing him for a smaller price or for free.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Ajax Amsterdam, PSG, Anzhi or even Real Madrid could be possible destinations for the Romanian international.

The 31 years old defender came at Inter in 2007 after four seasons at Roma. The transfer sum was around €18 millions.

Inter won the signature battle with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Chivu started his career at Resita where he made the debut at only 16 years old. He moved to Craiova and at the age of 19 he left for Ajax. He became the captain of the team after Ronald Koeman joined as a coach.
