Chelsea signed Mata from Valencia
Chelsea have announced that they completed the signing of the Spanish attacking midfielder Juan Mata from Valencia.
The 23 years old midfielder has signed a five years contract with the Stamford Bridge team. The Spanish international has cost Chelsea £27 millions.
New Chelsea coach Andre Villas Boas declared that he want to add more attacking power to the team and Mata will fit there perfectly. Mata has the advantage that he can play on different formations as he can play in centre midfield, behind the strikers or on the wings.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal were also interested in signing the player but the Spaniard declared that wants to win trophies and the opportunity to play alongside his compatriot Fernando Torres were decisive in his decision.
Mata played one season for Real Madrid second team before moving to Valencia in 2007. He scored 33 goals in 129 appearances for Valencia and 4 goals in 11 appearances for the national team.

Manchester City signed Nasri in the end
Manchester City have finally managed to sign Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri. The French international was unhappy at his former club and expressed his desire to leave the London club a few times recently.
Arsene Wenger decided to cash in the player now in order to not lose him on a free next summer when his contract with Arsenal was due to expire.
Manchester City paid £24 millions for the talented playmaker and offered him a four years deal around £180.000 a week.
Wenger lost 3 key players this summer in Gael Clichy, Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri but he will have at his disposal around £100 millions to strengthen the team. Those important loses might have a negative impact on Arsenal players and this could cost them their place in the Champions League.
Arsenal have a minor advantage over Udinese after first leg of the Champions League play-off. Wenger and his players will definitely have a tough test today in Italy today in the second leg.
