Genoa have manage to capture one of the most wanted Portuguese by signing Miguel Veloso from Sporting Lisabon.
Veloso was in the attention of the big Serie A and Premier League clubs since last summer but no team has made a concrete move until now.
The transfer sum is supposed to be around €9millions and 20% from the profit of eventually next sale. There are reports claiming that the 24 years old midfielder has signed a 4 years contract at Genoa.

The player admitted that  the financial part was not that important as the opportunity to play in a better league.

Veloso played 94 games for Genoa and made 14 appearances for his national team. By bringing Veloso to the club Genoa will try to fill the void left by Thiago Motta who left for Inter Milan last summer.

Also there are rumors that Shalke wing back Rafinha will join the team. Gasperini was looking also for a good full-back and Rafinha is the  best option around.

Rafinha was always in the starting line-up for Shalke since his arrival from Coritiba in 2005.

Schalke signed legendary Raul from Real Madrid

Raul was officially presented at Schalke today after passing the medical tests. The former Real Madrid captain will wear the same number seven as in Madrid.

Real Madrid all-time scorer signed a two years contract with the German side. Raul declared himself very excited about this new challenge. Also Felix Magath, the Schalke manager, declared himself very pleased with the arrival and praised the management for this move.

Magath believes that Raul is still a top class forward and is confident that he will help the team to win more trophies.

Football betting fans, but not only, consider him one of the greatest strikers ever. Football players  with his qualities are few this days and that’s why he is so loved at Bernabeu. Even other players from rival clubs respect him and saw him as a model.

Francesco Totti declared that Real Madrid have not lost only their captain but their soul. And indeed Raul was the heart of the team , the player that not many teams have, the true leader.

Despite having this qualities Raul is a humble person. Raul has won a lot of trophies, has beaten a lot of records but probably his greatest disappointment is that he did not won the Ballon D’or.

Raul and Guti were the first big victims after Mourinho’s arrival at Bernabeu although he declared that he would have wanted Raul to stay.

Why Eduardo made the right choice signing for Shakhtar

The Croatian international Eduardo is very close to a move to Shakhtor Donetsk according to latest reports in England.

The talented striker was in the attention of Lyon, Valencia or Aston Villa but it looks that the Ukrainians are in pole position.

Eduardo failed to rediscover his best form after that horrific injury from February 2008 and this move might revive his career.

Shakhtar are also playing in Champions League almost every year, so also from this point of view everything is perfect for the 27 year old footballer.

As we get used in the last couple of years the clubs from Ukraine and Russia invested a lot of moneys in football, and sports in general, so also from the financial point of view the move is not a bad one.

The transfer sum is around £6 millions and Eduardo is supposed to have agreed a 3 year deal.

Another good argument will be the fact that he will play alongside his national teammate  Dario Srna. There are reports that suggest that Shakhtor head coach asked his captain to convince Eduardo to join them. Also in the team there are a lot of Brazilians and the style of play fits him.

Lucescu declared that he was interested in signing the player also before moving to Arsenal and that he is very happy with the acquisition.

Eduardo started his senior career at Dinamo Zagreb where he played before moving to Arsenal.

Henry began his senior career at Monaco where he spent 7 years before moving to Juventus. His glorious days were at Arsenal were he moved after shortly experience in Turin.

He managed to score 174 goals in 254 games for Arsenal and he became the club goalscorer. At Arsenal Henry has won almost everything a player can desire. He has trophies with the club and national team but also individual awards.

The most notable awards that he missed were Golden Ball and Champions League. He moved then to Barcelona were he finally won the Champions League.

Although he had another year contract with Barcelona he decided that a new challenge is the best for him.

We wish all the best for one of the best football strikers in the game history.

It is a sad day for the New York Giants fans as linebacker Antonio Pierce has retired from the NFL after 9 seasons to join ESPN as an NFL analyst.

NFL betting fans will always remember Pierce as one of the top key players that shocked the world with the 2007 Giants team as they accomplished the biggest upset in NFL history by beating the unbeatable New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

During an interview back in May, Pierce said he needed neck surgery to continue playing, but the real story is that he was leaning in the direction of retiring.

Pierce missed the final seven games of last season due to a neck injury. He spent the past five seasons with the Giants but was released by the team in February after five years.

Pierce played four seasons with the Washington Redskins before playing with the New York Giants.

In the 2007 season, Pierce teamed up with Michael Straham at the defensive line position where both players were a complete menace to any quarterback in front of them.  Both were key players that did the impossible… stop Tom Brady and one of the best offenses in the history of the game.

Pierce played in 137 regular season games and seven playoff games. He ended his career with 687 tackles, nine sacks, and seven interceptions.
