Has fair play disappeared?

Football is one of the most beloved sports in the world and it should remain so. Usually football is associated with passion, emotion, excitement, dedication and not at last fair play.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the case last night, in the opening game of the Uefa Champions League Group F, Lyon against Fiorentina.
In 73th minute with Lyon trying to come back from two goals behind, Piquionne scored a controversial goal. After a duel in the six yard box, Zauri remained down with a head injury. The referee didn’t stopped the match and Lyon un-sportingly refused to kick the ball out.
Piquionne scored the goal from Benzema‘s pass. Zauri couldn’t continue and he had to be replaced with Jorgensen.
Lyon equalized five minutes from time as Fiorentina lost their heads.
After the game Gilardino the scorer of both goals for Fiorentina launched an attack on French team.
Also Zauri and Prandelli complained about the referee decision.
Let’s hope that such things will not repeat too often and we enjoy the matches.

After some poor showings for Inter, Adriano was sent on loan to Sao Paulo for six months last season.

Despite having appreciated evolutions at Sao Paulo, it was not certain that he will return back because of the disagreements with Mancini.
However Mancini was sacked and Jose Mourinho took Inter in charge this summer.
Mourinho kept Adriano in his plans and promised him a chance to prove everybody that it worth.
Mourinho didn’t expect too much as Adriano finaly scored in the Champions League game against Panathinaikos. The “Emperor” set the final score 2-0 for Inter, after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s through ball.
Adriano credited Mourinho with his good start of the season. He declared that he is very happy that Mourinho offered him this chance.
He said that the manager gives everybody confidence and helps them reach the best.
He also declared that is not yet the player he was once but is confident that with hard work and coach help will get to his best.

Roma lose against newcomers Cluj

After 3-1 lose against Palermo, Roma suffered another defeat 2-1, this time in Champions League against Cluj.
After fighting for the title until last game with Inter last year, Roma has a disastrous start this year.

Roma took the lead after Panucci’s goal, but after that Cluj took control of the game.
The Romanians showed no fear in Group A opener.Cullio turned the match in their favor after two beautiful goals.
It’s a superb victory for a team who played in Romanian third division, five or six years ago.
One notable thing is that Roma has a lot of injured players, especially in defence. Also some players have just recovered and they are not fit to play at maximum capacity, most notable Totti and Taddei. Even in this conditions it’s a painful lose for a team that aims the trophy.
Another reason for this failure could be that Roma players are not concentrating the entire match and they are underestimating the opposition.
One thing is sure, Spalletti has to find a solution until is not too late.

Lionel Messi is looking forward to Uefa’s Champions League start

Although just turned 21, Uefa Champions League is no secret for Barcelona’s young midfield,Lionel Messi who is looking forward for the start of the competition.

Having an average of better than a goal every three games in Uefa Champions League, and having been part of the team that won the title in 2006 against Arsenal,Lionel Messi is considered to be a young leader and Barcelona’s fans are putting a lot of hope in him.Although among the years he has suffered some serious injuries, he didn’t play against Arsenal in the 2006 final, when being fit,Messi is one of the most important players on the field and a decesive factor.

Being considered a future captain, Messi wants to have a good start in the Uefa Champions group C against Sporting after having a very disapointing start in the spanish league,where Barcelona managed to gather just one point in three matches.

Messi reasures Barcelona’s fans and says that he’s not worried about the latest poor performances because the team has been traing hard and has a good moral.He’s fully confident on a home win against Sporting and thinks that a win now will bounce Barcelona back to a good playing form.
