Will Javier Zanetti play football again?

0

Javier Zanetti suffered a bad injury on  Achilles tendon on last Sunday Serie A game against Palermo. It was a bad day for Inter fans who have lost the game 1-0 with Palermo and their captain.

The Achilles tendon injuries are from the worst injuries as the player is not allowed to make any effort for a period of six to nine months. This kind of injury would determine most of the players to retire and if we consider that Zanetti is 39 years old we might think that this is the end of his career.

But the Argentinean full-back insisted that he is not going to retire and that he will come back stronger. A few months ago Zanetti declared that he wants to extend his contract with Inter as he intends to play a few more years.

Zanetti has received a lot of messages of support from football fans all over the World. Zanetti made over 600 Serie A appearances for Inter since 1995 until now. One thing to notice is that Zanetti rarely got injured and he played most of the games since his arrival at Inter.

We all hope that he will get back soon and if there is somebody that can recover from this kind of injury at this age then that man is “El Tractor”.

Will Stekelenburg leave Roma at the end of the season?

0

Maarten Stekelenburg was close to leave Roma in January but everything failed after Roma decided to refuse the last minute offer.

Stekelenburg was not in the best terms with current Roma coach Zdenek Zeman and has lost his place in the team starting lineup. Fulham made a loan offer for the Netherlands goalkeeper and Roma accepted the offer initially but they failed to find a replacement and have changed their mind.

It looks like the clubs have kept the discussions open and Fulham made an offer of around €6 millions. Even if Zeman left Roma and Stekelenburg regained his place in the starting lineup he is decided to leave Roma. The main problem is the language barrier as he does not speak Italian and he is not feeling well in Serie A.

Roma have already started to look for a replacement and the Corinthians keeper Cassio Ramos is the favorite to replace him.

Fulham No.1 Mark Schwarzer will turn 41 in October and Fulham have made this transfer top priority for next season.

The attacking midfielder is a skillful player who is comfortable striking the ball with both feet. Ruben will come at San Siro with his younger brother.

Should electronic mouthguards be introduced in rugby?

0

It is well known that rugby is one of the most toughest sports. Hutt Old Boys Marist players have started to wore the electronic mouthguards to detect better the concussions and ensure better the players healthy.

The mouthguards were imported from US by the team doctor to measure the received by the players on the field.

The players wore the mouthguards last game against Wainuiomata in the Swindale Shield match and will probably do the same on Saturday game against Oriental-Rongotai. The rugby odds are giving them as favorites for the game.

King, the team doctor, started this work after he witnessed the dead of Leaonardo Va’a in 1998. The player died on the field after he suffered a few concussions and a bleed on his brain. The player was declared dead at the arrival at the hospital. That incident marked King and determined him to want to know more about it.

He started to work in rugby last year when HOBM decided that all players should make the tests after every match.

King declared that the New Zealand Rugby union is not involved in this even if they know all about it. The club players are forced to take a break of three weeks in case of a diagnosed concussion. Unfortunately this is only for professional players.

King also declared that most of the players have embraced the concept but there are some of them who were reluctant in accepting it.
