Manchester United have confirmed that Ryan Giggs will sign a one year extension to the contract with the club.

The 39 years old midfielder signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils in 1990. He has made over 900 appearances for Manchester United and now he has the chance to reach his 1000th game in United shirt.

After signing the contract Giggs declared that he is very pleased with the new deal and wanted to thank manager Sir Alex Ferguson and the club owners for supporting him unconditioned.

Also Sir Alex declared that he is happy that Giggs will stay for another year. He is a model for young players and still a useful player.

Giggs moved to the center of the midfield in the last couple of years as he does not have the same speed as he was twenty. The Welsh player can not play more than 1 full game a week but when he enters the filed he gives his best.

Giggs and Zanetti are the only two field players that play at the highest level and are doing really good.
